I'm 18 miles from all the towers, I installed it in the attic and it picks up all the channels pretty well. I think if it were outdoors it would be fine, but I'm having issues with the VHF Hi-Channel in my area so I bought another model for $92 from a channel master with good reviews. This model should work wonders for 90% of you. It was very easy to install. My only advice is to go overboard when buying an antenna. You don't have to do it twice or set it up. A really good antenna for €100-150 quickly pays for itself. You don't want things like rain or wind to throw you out of your favorite show or sport. I will give this antenna to a friend as I know they can use it and it is good quality. If there wasn't a major network (CBS) I wouldn't care. I just like to watch local news there. Visit the TVFool website and if you only have VHF channels this is perfect for you.
