For the price and purpose of being a blank this does the job however if you are looking for a panel that is as black as this it is not like your other gearbox or the rack itself (see photo). The first image shows a 2U panel next to a black 4U rack drawer, and the second image shows a 1U panel (from the same manufacturer) next to the black part of a rack shelf. The difference is pretty obvious. They appear black in certain lighting conditions, but when you place them next to other devices that are black, they stand out. Luckily, the alternating hues between this panel (which I'd rather call a dark gray) and my hardware, which IS black, look nice, but if you're a stickler when it comes to getting all your stuff together, you'll probably want to follow up look for another panel. .
