Review on 🌬️ Emerson Quiet Kool 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote Control, EARC8RE1, 115V, White, 8000 BTU by Monique Ahn

After reading the reviews I chose this product because (despite the name and description) it is not quiet. We like night noise. These devices are also great for circulating warm air from the heater, so it was a win-win. The first unit we ordered was defective and made a loud rattling/grinding metallic noise that never got better. I had to go back and ask for a replacement. Too bad I just came back and bought a replacement elsewhere. The second unit normally worked from September to June. The control panel then self-destructed and the device had a mind of its own. It turned itself off or didn't allow us to change settings, all those things you read about in reviews of this product. I was happy to know that there was a one year warranty. Since we were long before that, I approached them about a warranty replacement. I was advised to cut off the power cord and send a photo of it along with the label with the original serial number. That was over two months ago. I was even hesitant to do it because we live in Texas. Hot. I was assured that we would have a replacement within two weeks. That was over two months ago. There is still no replacement and no confirmation that the required paperwork has been sent, despite emails to the same customer service rep I originally heard about. I had to buy another block at my own expense. There is no indication that Emerson will honor its guarantee. I intend to file a complaint with anyone willing to take it.
