First: This cable ONLY converts your computer's Display Port (DP) to your monitor's HDMI. On the contrary, WILL NOT. In general, due to the technology used, it is easy to convert DP to HDMI and very difficult to convert from HDMI to DP. If you need to convert HDMI to DP, you'd better look for alternative connection types. I faced the same problem and there is no cheap and easy solution. My Rating: I use this cable to connect my monitor (HDMI) to one of several PCs (Displayport). multiple PCs and it works great. A long cable is ideal as I also swapped 2 USB cables (mouse and keyboard) so all 3 cables are about the same length. I have no complaints and this cable worked every time I switched PCs.
