Pressure bleeding is by far the best and quickest way to bleed a car's brake system. The Mityvac MV6840 bleeder does a good job of pressurizing the reservoir and quickly bleeding air from the brake system. However, it is inferior in two areas. First, the air is not isolated from the liquid, which allows air to mix with new liquid and enter the system. I don't think this will be a big problem as long as the device isn't shaken and the liquid isn't allowed to spill out. Second, the maximum working pressure is 20psi. If you bleed the ABS module when it is activated with a scan tool, many manufacturers require at least 30psi. I got the tool from Amazon and decided to give it a try. I hooked it up to a late 90's Buick after fixing two rusty lines, pressurizing the block and opening the valve. Next I broke the air vent and nothing came out. Wondering if there was an obstruction in that line, I asked the salesman to step on the pedal and voila, the liquid came out under good pressure. Tries to release the pressure, nothing. I then removed the master cylinder adapter and nothing came through the fitting. I then disassembled the adapter and found that it was assembled with a lot of thread sealant blocking fluid flow. Everything worked fine in the end, but for the money I have to say I expected better quality control. Finally, there is no adapter for rectangular tanks found on hundreds of makes and models.
