Review on Women'S Platform Lace-Up Wingtips Square Toe Oxfords Shoes By DADAWEN by Matthew Sytniak

Cheap and actually comfortable!

These are pretty decent shoes. Are they super high quality? Of course not. Do they look expensive? No, they look like $25-30 casual shoes. Will they last forever? Not if you're hard on shoes. It's been a long time since I bought a pair of shoes this cheap, but for the price, you can do worse. A lot worse.I usually wear a 7.5, occasionally 8. My feet are wide across the ball of the foot and narrow at the heel. I also have a high instep. Since oxfords are typically narrow and size 7.5 isn't available, I ordered an 8. These are true to size lengthwise. Yes, they look narrow at the toe, but toes shouldn't be crammed to the front. Feet aren't shaped like that. To compare, I ordered a size 7 afterward, but they're too short for my liking. My normal size would be the best fit, but the 8 works. I have plenty of space at the front and across the toebox. They are a bit wide for me through the midsection of the foot to the heel, but not enough to cause issues. I wish I could tighten the laces a bit more, but it's not possible. Because these are so cheap, there are likely sizing discrepancies between pairs of the same size, but these should generally work for someone with a wide-ish foot. The apricot is color is what a lot of people would call probably "nude." I'm mixed and have pale olive skin. While it's certainly not "nude" on my skin, it is a light neutral that's not too pink or golden. The upper material is thin and pliable. Real patent leather can be stiff and painful at first, but you won't have that problem here. The leather lining is also very comfortable, and they're surprisingly lightweight. I've worn them to work two days in a row with no problems. I will go so far as to say these are more comfortable than another pair of leather oxfords with a sneaker-style sole that cost more than six times as much.I don't experience any problems with noises or "air sounds" like other reviews have mentioned. Mine are quiet on all surfaces. The only potential problem is that the soles feel very slippery on some kinds of carpeting. I haven't actually slipped yet, but I was worried about it all day when I first wore them. It rained today, and I still didn't fall so maybe I'm imagining it.Considering the price, I'm pleased with what I got, and I might even order another color.

Pros
  • Wide toe box provides wiggle room for toes
Cons
  • The shoes feel like clown shoes
