Faded despite good quality

They look high quality, but have some black spots (tarnish marks?) on the shank of the earring. One of them was completely missing an earring. They also don't have the back of the earrings (which is stated in the product description). They would be great, but I won't look for murky ones. To return

It is not stainless steel. They turn dark and turn green on the back.
