Well I got this with the intention of expanding my DVR but it turned out to be incompatible. It kind of annoys me that my cable company's tech support person told me that I just need an eSATA external drive and it should work. Reviews seem to indicate that most people are successfully using it to improve their DVRs, but it won't work with mine. I have an Arris DCX3615-M from my local cable company, Bend Broadband. When I called them to complain or to see if they could get it to work, they said it had to be a drive specifically designed for DVR expansion, which apparently isn't the case. The drive is not a bug, I use it to store data from my computer and it works fine, but be aware that this drive MAY NOT WORK with your DVR.
