If you want to add up to 4 drives to your computer without having to open the computer and connect its cables, then this is your baby. The benefit of this docking station is that you can physically insert and remove 3.5" drives and 2.5" SSDs with ease. This allows you to keep a stack of hard drives in your storage library at a much lower cost without having to purchase an enclosure. per storage unit. Just label them and organize them by file type (images, audio, documents, etc.) and save the main list. When it's time to bring them online, simply remove the drives you don't need access to and insert new ones into the dock. It is JBOD but with USB 3.0 transmission. It's not closed, which is great as you can easily swap it out on the fly. Installation is quick. Just plug it into a USB 3.0 port on your computer and USB B into the Sabrent. Then connect the power supply. Less than 5 minutes and it just works without any special drivers. You can use it as a mobile storage device to connect to a desktop computer or mobile laptop. Unfortunately it's not a USB 3.1 Gen 2 connection, I really wish Sabrent would make one as it would allow for even faster data transfers. However, it is fast USB 3.0 with speeds of up to 5 Gbps. I like this solution over NAS storage as it requires very little setup and management. Best $80 I've Spent.
