I compared several binoculars that cost 3 times as much, decided on them based on other reviews and was delighted. They replace a pair of Fuji 7x35s (8x42s in today's overvalued currency) that have fallen and died. I like the build quality and the extra step up over the old ones. I live in the cloudy Pacific Northwest. They easily gather enough light for my purposes. I really like the roll-up eyecups. Focusing is easy and fast. I have little aiming technique when using the center of the binoculars as a scope. I take my subject and then just raise the binoculars to the same plane; It takes a little practice but works great with 10x binoculars. I learned this while swimming offshore with an old man who had old 10x50 binoculars. Take that as a general remark, although the same goes for these binoculars: they come with a silly case and cheap straps, but are strong enough to deserve a more comfortable strap, so I took the strap off an old camera and you are done. I usually grab my binoculars in a hurry so I don't pack them in a suitcase. I also remove the caps first. It's better to toss baseball caps in the trash than to scatter them across the country in the inevitable process of losing them. Since I carry my camera with me all the time, I have many lens cleaning options. I keep my binoculars in the glove compartment of my car or carry them in my backpack for easy keeping reasonably clean.
