Corrupt files on flash drives

Dude, I really liked this thing at first. So frustrating! It was a lot bigger than I expected when I got it (really heavy) but I was fine with that. Worn around the neck to carry what I wanted so beware. And people keep saying it doesn't quite have the amount of GB that's advertised: sorry folks, but none of them have it. If you have exactly 8, 16, 32, etc., then someone did it that way on purpose. And the more GB, the more you lose. Standards are never exact, so be careful and do your homework. But! Taking the necklace off to get to the drive itself was a bit of a hassle, but after the other half flew back and forth (I only bent down to pick up my purse), I can see why it's on the other half half was attached. Maybe put trinkets on the part that doesn't fly everywhere? I lost two gems just like that. So the strength of the magnet was an issue, but not the biggest issue. My assessment comes from this: After having it for about five months, I noticed that it didn't match the "how" it was connected to. But then again. , it's a cheaper drive with more attention to aesthetics, so I've learned to care. And then I noticed something strange: corrupted files were pouring out here and there. Again this happened when it was complaining about the way it was connected so I rebooted and everything was fine. Don't worry, right? nope Symptoms of a more serious problem. After sitting idle for a few months, I returned it to put more valuable files on it. only to find that half of the files on it were now corrupt. My first thought was reassuring and that it was unpredictable again, so I plugged it into a different port: no change. I tried another computer: just as bad. As a computer user who is a programmer's child, I know that no matter how "cute" the device is or how confident you are, you ALWAYS back up your files multiple times. And I'm so thankful I did. I publish novels and among those corrupted files were novels over 4,100,000 words. I can't tell you what I would do if I lost her! Technology fails, but I've never had corrupted USB files before, and I've used many different files in the past. I can no longer use this as a reliable backup source for important files. Sad because it's really neat. But hundreds of hours of work are more important than the looks of the store.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
