Beautiful and beneficial!
It's a good deal and works really well as long as you don't get bogged down in a bunch of apps or programs. An external hard drive is almost essential if you want to do something interesting with it, but it's perfect for school and work (stationery). Light and small, with a decent battery life. For a few hundred dollars, this would make a great college gift. (and maybe buy them that external HD)
