When you swing our front door wide, it hits our first step. Sometimes this is unavoidable when going in with full hands, strong winds etc. We didn't want to put up a floor stand because we were concerned that someone might trip or step over it as we would have to put them in an awkward position. Workplace. This wall mount is perfect. It's larger than most, it looks clean and modern, it's on a pedestal which is a bit odd but in terms of decor it fits in well with our home. When we moved in, the movers opened this door several times and our stairwell is still in excellent condition; protected by a stopper. The included hardware is also solid; no cheap stuff. Very happy with our purchase.
