If you're new to wax fillings, this is a solid kit. My only regret is that I ordered it in copper instead of brass as the brass set looks more premium. But copper melts wax very quickly. I lit the candle, placed the base on it, dropped three balls of wax into the spoon, and put the spoon in the hole above the lit candle. I kept tipping the spoon back and forth because the wax started to melt almost instantly. I moved the melting wax around until the three balls of wax were completely melted - about 2-3 minutes. Then I took the spoon and carefully poured the hot wax around the back flap of the sealed envelope. Once there was enough wax for my stamp, I gently pressed the stamp into the wax, held it there for 10-15 seconds, and then gently lifted it. I stamped the image a little crooked, but melting and pouring the wax couldn't be easier and quicker. I quickly wiped the rest of the wax off the spoon so it didn't harden. And then I just let the pieces cool before putting them away. The family crest looked great!
