My son is a size 7 and has a slim/athletic build. A fitted size 7 usually fits him best, but tight-fitting pants are hard to find. These pants are a bit too long for him. We bought a size 8 so I would say they are true to size. They are also very medium in size. They aren't flimsy or bulky, but have an internal elastic band to slip them on or off when needed. They will definitely look best when they match my son's length, so we'll hide them for now. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. The jeans look very good, but also feel thick and durable, so they fit into both worlds.
