The "perfect" measuring spoon set is easy to imagine and very close! Stainless steel is definitely a metal and they are not rusty! Engraved, not painted - they are engraved and fairly legible. Nested - they have a very nice dense spoon so they take up minimal space in the drawer Flat top - each spoon is a single piece of metal and they are easily aligned. Oval - All but 1 tablespoon fit in my spice jars, as do the measuring spoons. Wide range of sizes - they could be a bit better here - I would have preferred 1/3 tsp over 3/4 tsp but 3/4 tsp is so common I can't complain. Lays flat on the table - This set does NOT lie flat on the table, which is the main downside. I can't measure something and then leave the spoon on the countertop, and measuring spoons must be held in one hand when measuring liquids. This raised the set from 5 to 4 stars for me.
