Small but works great!
My cat loves these scratching posts (and the fluffy ball kept them playing for hours) but the only problem is that they tip over pretty easily if your cat runs onto them to jump on (my cat weighs 3 pounds and threw him down anyway). She still uses it to scratch once in a while, but doesn't play with it that much as it falls off so often.
