I needed this mat for the cat bowl. Within 10 seconds of filling up, my cat or child will knock it over and it will fly all over the place. I have deep tile joints and they end up on the other side of the kitchen. So I needed something to keep water from getting in everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I have read many reviews and searched for exactly what I need it for and so far it has worked. I used a large mat for the food and water bowl, the paw print was too small so I placed it outside the litter box. It also reduces the trash thrown out of the box. However, when the bowl tipped over, the water stayed on the mat and I was able to wash it down the sink.
