Here's what I finally found out. The inner elastic band and the outer elastic band stick together in these diapers. You must make sure that it separates completely when you open the diaper, otherwise it will leak. Sometimes it's enough to unfold the diaper completely and stretch it a bit, and sometimes you have to slide your finger between two elastics to separate it manually. It was an annoying hassle at first, but I got used to it and it only lasts a few seconds. Also make sure that the ruffle in the leg opening is on the outside and not tucked in, otherwise it could leak. Like many other reviewers, I prefer the old Bambo diapers and am a bit disappointed with the new version. I encountered several leaks in a row and even emailed Bambo before writing a review on Amazon. I'm shocked I never got an answer. I decided to contact them first after noticing that they are conscientious in responding to all Amazon reviews and encourage people to contact support. However, they seem to have stopped responding to everyone on the leaks. I have been a loyal customer for many years and expect good customer service. I still buy these diapers because I love the ingredients and I finally figured out how to avoid leaks. I like the new moisture indicator, but I'd happily ditch it to bring back the old version. The company says the new version is less bulky, which is true because it's thinner, but I never saw the old version as bulky or in need of improvement. Also, these diapers are longer and fit differently. All in all, if you've never bought Bambo diapers and are worried about reviews, buy one and follow my advice to prevent leaks. If you've never used the old version, you won't notice the difference and it doesn't matter. The old version was by far the best diaper on the market. The new version is still the healthiest and safest natural diaper you will find anywhere. It took me a while to decide whether to give 3 or 4 stars. The lack of response from customer service is why I gave 3 stars instead of 4.
