I bought this to mount a 2.5" BarraCuda drive that first came in a LaCie case. The LaCie USB-C failed almost immediately and I was unable to access the drive to erase my data. So I opened LaCie with a CHISEL a la YouTube and ejected the disc, which was fine. The BarraCuda 5TB is 15mm high, which doesn't fit in standard 2.5" SATA enclosures, so I had to get an enclosure designed for both 2.5 and 3.5 drives. This case works really well - I get three times the speed with this drive than a LaCie case - but there are a few instructions that aren't very clear. Nearby is a large power switch with a small on/off switch. The smaller switch controls the fan. The instructions for installing the drive aren't very clear. With 3.5" drives, the idea is to insert the supplied screws into the bottom of the drive and then secure them in the slots provided in the case. The screws didn't fit my 2.5" drive, so I followed another reviewer's guide and cut off small pieces of styrofoam to hold the drive in place when used in a vertical position. Umbrella.
