Love these lights, they were very easy to install on my Escape. However, there were no instructions in the kit (the description mentions the instructions in the box). Also, my headlights don't turn off when my car is turned off (I really have no idea why it's probably my car doing something and not the headlights). I'm considering wiring them to a fuse box to avoid any potential problems that might arise. I placed the receiver under the driver's dash next to the door speaker and that seems close enough for the music color changing mode to work. The wires are easy to hide and I am very happy with these lights. UPDATE: September 2016 My flashlights have stopped working for a few weeks (after almost a year of use). I tried changing the remote battery but the latch must have melted or something. As a result, I had to rip off the front buttons to get to it. I replaced the battery but they still wouldn't turn on. I suspect I melted the remote by leaving it on the dash too many times (the Florida sun is taking its toll). I plan to connect a small electronics unit with dimmers. Won't have fade sequence and music follow features, but music has never worked so well, so not much wasted. One star docked for durability, but they're $20 so can't expect them to be the most heat-resistant. Conclusion: Do not leave the remote control in the sun for too long.
