Normally I try to avoid combinations of modem and WLAN router. I made an exception of only one device based on the reviews and ease of use and after 2.5 months the WiFi signal on the router has degraded to the point that I will be returning the device. Luckily I got protection. plan as the signal deteriorated 20 days after the return period. I live in an apartment and when I bought the modem/router the speed was between 140-150Mbps on 5GHz and 40-50Mbps on 2.4GHz with a 200Mbps connection. This was to be expected as the apartments are very full. The computer that I have always hard-wired to the device gets 240Mbps all the time, so the problem isn't on the ISP's side. The wireless signal has been degrading since I bought the device, but I pushed myself tonight to choose the protection plan I bought for it. At 5ft I get 70-90Mbps on 5GHz and 20Mbps on 2.4GHz. At 10 meters my signal is around 30Mbps on 5GHz and 900kbps on 2.4GHz. Update 09/21: After a factory reset, the download speed is still slower than I got the router, but not as bad as written at the time. Review. Updated when frequent resets are required to maintain reasonable speed.
