The knife blade is adjustable.
When in doubt, remember that the cutting blade is adjustable for cutting depth. If you remove the top blade (comb), you can access the cutting blade. Remove it from the case (pay attention to the tension spring and its position). Underneath the cutter blade you will see an adjustment bracket with two small screws that attach it to the cutter body. Loosen the screws and adjust as desired.
