I have very fair skin and freckles so tanning is not an option for me. I have been using self tanning products for a long time and found what I was looking for at Ulta a few years ago. At first I loved it. It was easy to apply, gave a nice brown color and lasted a week if I applied it twice. The color was good enough that I ignored its flaws, but there are so many tanning products on the market that I'm going to try something new this year. Cons: After buying several bottles, I realized that not all bottles are created equal. This stuff expires! That was the first error I found. I didn't keep a bottle forever and then it expired, I bought bottles that were already bad. At first they also ran with gloves, but they stopped doing so last summer. This really pissed me off because you CANNOT apply this lotion without gloves, seriously, don't even think about it. Another thing is that the next morning, before I took a shower, my skin was itchy terribly! It settles in your pores (although I'm one of those people with fairly large pores on my legs, so keep that in mind) but it gets into every little wrinkle and pore. If you wash it well enough it should be gone. It also smells pretty bad. When applied, there is not even a pleasant smell. My husband hates this smell and so do I. I sometimes put it on before going out for a drink because I need more color and the perfume doesn't even cover the smell. It takes a while to dry, it will definitely get onto your white sheets and clothes, but don't worry, there won't be any stains. Just try not to wear a white shirt after you apply as it will rub off and everyone will see. I still give this product 3 stars because the color really is the most natural I've ever tried. I've noticed that to avoid looking blotchy when peeled off, I use a no sun exposure lotion like Jergens. It maintains the base tan between uses. It also takes about 3 applications of Fake Bake to get a darker tan. Hope that helps! And if you decide to buy this product, don't forget to wear gloves!
