A Marshal Stanmore II bluetooth speaker was my prior go-to for these tunes, and I was hoping to find a portable option that was just as good. In reality, the bass is extremely muted. The sound quality may appear exceptional if this is your first pair of high-quality headphones and your listening environment has been less than ideal up until now. I wouldn't recommend them for music listening so much as for watching movies and other multimedia. So far, this Apple product has been the only one to fall short of my lofty expectations. A noise detector aboard an airplane is not unnecessary, etc., so it will perform the job, but it won't do much more.
