Surviving the Chicago winters requires good winter gear ! The good thing about this mask is that the hood is able to separate from the neck piece. So I can wear it around the neck and pull the hood up if / when needed. This is a lot more convenient than my other face mask which is just a wear it all or nothing design.I’ve had issues around the ears though. The hood is on the small side and just barely covers the ears. The bottom neck piece isn’t really meant to come up over the ears. So I’m constantly having to fix the coverage around the ears .Also , it’s on the thin side and not really super warm. That cold wind coming off the Lake in Chicago will eventually win the battle with this mask. So it’s fine for more moderate winter temps and/or limited time outdoors, under a helmet or hoodie , etc .
