The whole package was packed in a relatively small box for what it will eventually become. At first glance, many of the parts seem intimidating, but one look at the instructions and you'll see that installation is fairly easy. Each gusset is numbered to match another gusset holding the same side brace. I first built each rectangular shelf and then added the connecting legs. Ultimately, to make the most of the empty closet space, I made two identical 5-shelf shelves instead of a 10-shelf shoe rack. The shelf's material feels like thick paper, but is stretched tightly to support the weight of three pairs of shoes when all the pieces on each tier are connected. The shelf is strong, although I don't know how strong it would be if it stood 10 shelves tall. I love this shelf. Good value for money!
