I was surprised by the absolute fig quality of the polishes. I bought this set because I really wanted to use a matte top coat. However, it was terrible. The top layer was thick and full of solid pieces that were incredibly uneven. Same goes for the base coat in this set, plus the base coat brush was rock hard. In my photos you can see parts of the matte top coat as well as what the matte paint brush looks like. Is that the standard that the Beetle adheres to? I've attached a photo of just two nails that I applied (they are next to the UV light so you can see the rough texture caused by the top coat). Also, although I had previously used Beetle gel nail polishes, the matte top coat seriously burned my fingers (and I used latex bug repellent!). I had to strip the polish off by hand, which badly spoils the nails. Complete disappointment. Addendum: I tried on all the polishes from this set on a plastic bag. They were smooth. I tested three on my nails and they were all chunky, even with the Beetles base gel from the kit I previously bought. The quality of the base and the top is terrible.
