They do not have handles or straps. To tie them together, we usually either pull the opposite corners of the bag together and tie them together, or we turn the top and tape them in place. The packs themselves are either of good thickness so they don't break easily. They are dark and you can't see anything through them. They come in a box and are pre-cut so you can just pull them out one at a time. They are very easy to open and are ready to use without much effort as soon as you take them out of the packaging. They aren't reinforced or anything, but are strong enough for most household and kitchen uses and are certainly useful for storing clothes for the season. They're good for paper waste, although I wouldn't throw out too many books at once because they don't hold as much weight. The size is large, they work willingly and a large kitchen bin, and they also work in my Keter plastic bins outside.
