Review on 💁 John Frieda Smooth Waves Body & Shine 5 Jumbo Rollers - 2-inch by Deanna Belanger

I got my rollers last weekend and after using them a few times I can honestly say this is the holy grail of giant hot rollers. The negative reviews I've read about this reel set are due to unfulfilled expectations in my opinion. If you're expecting these curlers to "curl" your hair, then I'll tell you right away, you'll be disappointed. 5 2 inch hair curlers are not designed to "curl" hair. On the contrary, they are designed to straighten hair (much like a flat iron) but still retain shape and volume (unlike the effect you get with a flat iron). I love that these curlers don't frizz my hair at all. They give you a blow out (round brush) look that you get in a salon. That's exactly what I want. I've had a lot of "giant" curler sets, but most of them come with a 1 1/2 inch curler set that will end up frizzing your hair or making it look weird (think '60s Nancy Drew years). at the ends. However, I liked the volume these reels gave, so I kept looking for a better set. I found one from Hot Tools with 5 1 3/4 reels about 5 years ago and while they worked better than the smaller reels they are still not quite there. Last year I bought a Babyliss set that contained a mix. Hair curlers and big curlers which theoretically worked fine but for some reason they left weird ridges and dents in my hair. They also twisted out the ends, despite the larger size. So I was very skeptical about this purchase that they would be better but I love everything about them. From the size, shape and design of the set, to the clips that fit me really well, to the little pouch you keep your clips in, everything works perfectly. I love the high heat setting (don't worry about the low heat!) and how my hair looks after using it. I usually wash my hair at night, give it a quick blow dry, and then straighten it with a flat iron. I have wavy hair, this works well with a little heat. The next morning before work, I plug in my curler set and apply 5 curlers (1 on front, 1 on part, 1 on each side and 1 on back) while I do my makeup. I only leave them after 5-8 minutes. Then I take them out and straighten my hair with a brush and my hair gets incredibly smooth volume. I love it! They're also great for second-day hair - they just pump your hair back and smooth out any kinks you may have while you sleep. It's not like a curling iron (which I don't like anyway) or a smaller curler—nor should it be. I have medium length hair (a few inches below my shoulders in long layers) and these curlers are perfect for me. If your hair is much shorter or you have short layers, these may not work.
