Review on Zoo Med Frog and Tadpole Food for Aquatic Environments by Heather Davis

Adult African dwarf frogs and tadpoles know very little about these granules. ADPs have poor eyesight and find food by smell. They will sink immediately if left lying, which is normal as they feed on the bottom, but they quickly disappear into the substrate and the frogs cannot find them. In my nursery without substrate, this was still a problem, since young tadpoles are filter feeders from the start and need live food as they grow. Picture of my baby tank where the pellets just sit on the bottom and slowly break up and need to be removed. I have never seen such a useless product and I am surprised at the high ratings for this product. When I crushed these grains for several days, they stayed alive. But it is better to buy feed for juvenile fish, which will certainly be small enough. Perhaps it would be better for other bottom dwellers that literally suck any traces of food out of the substrate. ADF is sniffed a bit, but this feed doesn't seem to take into account how these animals really behave and their limitations. And I watch my frogs every day and watch them eat. Frozen or live worms do best for adult ADFs, and they eventually grow and reproduce. That's why I have a baby pool for starters! I think due to the size and placement alongside other fish products in aquatic frog shops this might be worth living as it seems like a good fix for an inexperienced owner. In particular, ADFs don't eat that much and might survive for a while, but that might end them. I hope you find the moth. The frozen cubes sink to the bottom and the frogs are happy and triple their size and they can breed again if the conditions are right. My first batch began mating with a bloodworm within 3 weeks. For educational reasons, it was very interesting to watch the entire life cycle of these amazing frogs.
