It took me a few minutes of frustration to realize that the arm of the hook expands when you twist the round part at the base. It does not extend to the depth of the ventilation slats. My vents are recessed anyway and grab the edge of the rim on the inside of the rider's left vent, which has a shape defect. (Not a perfect location for me, but the right side vent is slick, so it won't work in this case.) I'm just glad to have something to use since my Jeep's "tech" is less modern and a lot harder to use than most cars of its age.
