I purchased these mats for my wood shop -- for gluing, etc., where the gunk will easily clean off the mats, and small amounts of solvent won't hurt them. Moreover, they stay in place on the bench top, with no slipping. Two of them is a perfect size for my bench. They seem strong enough to last for a while. I note that every time I look on Best Buy, the price is higher by a dollar or two.They are made in China. Too bad I can't find a USA product. I do wish Best Buy would indicate the country of origin for their products.The only down side is the significant (to me) chemical odor upon unpacking. I wouldn't use these in my kitchen until/unless they aired out enough to have no odor. It is possible that washing them would remove it -- I haven't tried (but will). The odor took away a star. If they are odor-free after washing, I will return the star, since they would certainly be washed before use in a kitchen.
