I'm not a professional and my tools are used occasionally, but I want to keep them functional and aesthetically pleasing. Featured in a video review, this safety boot is pretty hard to find on Milwaukee.com. I treated it with Tire Dressing (inside and out), left it on overnight and then put it on for a perfect fit. This provides a better grip when in use and protects the plastic case from scratches. The feel of the rubber is altered by tire dressing and it tends to shed dirt and resist abrasion better than it would without treatment. Hope that helps.
