Based on all the information that cribs should be suffocation free, we didn't want to put anything that looked like a pillow in DD's crib. Clean, NO. But since DD arrived a month before she was born, she slept a lot and was only awake a few hours a day. She wasn't really having a very productive time on her tummy and we noticed that she was getting a flat head :( Grandma sent us one of those cute baby pillows and since DD hadn't turned over yet we decided to give controlled sleep a try. Me I am pleased to report that we have seen a significant improvement in her head shape.She also seems to roll and turn less and falls asleep more comfortably with this headrest than just sleeping on the mattress.It's handy too to use for cell phone we bought a second one so we don't have to carry it back and forth from the crib Merlin costume which helps her stay on your back.
