Review on Stainless Millimeter Conversion Sattiyrch Electronic by Jeremy Jackz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

very accurate, looks solid

I bought this caliper to avoid scratching expensive watches and fragile parts made of soft materials. It's practically a copy of my steel digital caliper, except it doesn't have a locking screw to keep the movable jaw from slipping after reading. True, this is understandable, since the set screw will most likely damage the surface of the slide. The illustrations show a display with two digits to the right of the decimal point using a metric scale, and these numbers are smaller than the numbers to the left. But the actual element has only one digit on the right (as the text in the listing describes). The inch scale has two digits to the right of the decimal point, although they are the same size as those on the left. So the resolution in metric mode is a bit lacking, but the accuracy in both modes is excellent. The display is fairly large and easy to read compared to most steel calipers I've seen, but note that the slightest movement of the moving shoe will automatically turn the display on - this can happen accidentally. And the screen timeout is about three minutes, so be sure to turn it off manually to avoid draining the battery. I've tried several other plastic calipers lately but haven't found one that is even half as good as this one. Therefore, I like to deal with his warts, especially at a super cheap price.

Pros
  • Check, measure and check
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
