Review on SS Audio JBL Speaker Horn Diaphragm Replacement - 2412H, 2412H-1, Soundfactor, MP215, MP225, EON15, EON10, JRX, TR, and More by Hassan Tomlinson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This one did better. Reading the reviews here it seems so.

Rating increased to 1 star. The 2nd replacement also stopped working. This is unacceptable: Previous Report ---> This is the replacement I installed on my JBL JRX112 monitor. I have 4 monitors and one of the speakers gave up on me a few weeks ago. The first one I received was defective I thought. He had very little and thin high notes. I returned it and ordered another one. This one did better. Reading the reviews here, it seems that many people are not following best practices when replacing this diaphragm. Be extremely careful, the coils are very thin and easily damaged. Check the magnet and the small hole, clean it with compressed air or WD40 and use a magnifying glass to make sure the hole is clean. When installing the membrane, it is desirable that a signal goes there. By finger-tightening the screws, you'll find the sweet spot that gets you the most bang for your buck. Now you can tighten the screw. This replacement is made of plastic compared to the original JBL which is made of metal. If unsure, get a complete tweeter assembly. Just replacing the membrane is time-consuming and requires certain skills.
