About two months ago we switched from a regular iPad to a Mini iPad. . After about five weeks, we both started to feel severe pain in the upper left arm. It took some time, but we finally decided that the pain was caused by holding the folder in our lap with our left hand. This causes the upper left arm (if you're right-handed) to become tight and eventually cause pain. We ordered this handy little Edesk and after a week of use the pain subsided. I expect it will go away completely in a few weeks. Edesk holds the mini iPad in place so you don't have to hold it with your left hand. It also raises it to a comfortable reading level. The knee pad is neither hot nor bulky. We left the stand folder attached to the mini iPad and it folds easily onto the stand. The Edesk also has a fold-out bar for iPad storage that needs to be used. The entire Edesk folds up quickly for easy storage next to a side table. Ideal for those who want to work comfortably on their iPad. I don't understand why this Edesk doesn't also work with a regular iPad.
