years. The solenoid must be clogged with calcium deposits. I've tried wetting the parts with vinegar but to no avail. I bought this model because it was affordable and came with lots of adapters. I was able to cut the wires going to my old solenoid, find the right connectors and attach this one. It probably differed in length by about 1/16 inch, so the bracket on this one didn't perfectly match the screw holes on the frame of my humidifier. But I was able to bend the mount a bit and it fit perfectly. My humidifier is now working and water is flowing again. Thanks to Muddler and Honoson for putting together all the parts I needed and could need in one package.
