This is my second. My first failed. The motor is not as powerful as a commercial blender. It's not a blender. This is a good little blender when used properly and was a hit at our malt party back in the 50's. Now for the right application. Don't overfill your cup. A few scoops of ice cream. If not, cut your fruit. Don't wait either. After adding the ice cream and syrup-malt mixture, fill the ice cream to the brim or almost to the brim (not the cup) with milk. This ensures easy mixing and does not overload the mixer. Sometimes I move my cup with my hand to help her mix. If you expect him to mix ice cream with little or no milk, this isn't going to happen. Use it right and it's great.
