No matter how gentle you wash these and take care of them, after a few candles are made you will always have striations on the surface of the candle. You cannot melt and make them smooth by any stretch of imagination. Very very big disappointment due to the fact that I love these sphere candles. Each time one was made I would immediately put the mold into hot soapy water to clean them as well as possible. However, after that you would have to take a heat gun to the plastic mold itself to melt off the wax that sticks to the inner side of the mold. Believe me I have tried everything including all types of release agents much to my dismay.2-27-22 - I just had to come back and update on this product. I found that the problem is using 100% soy wax in these molds is just about impossible to get a clean product finish. I’ve tried it now with different ratios of soy and paraffin and now have the recipe that makes it come out 99% perfect and shiny and nice! So my apologies to the company and I’m changing my rating to a five star. I will buy these again. Experience and experimenting with new ideas to correct problems usually helps to arrive at a decent solution.
