When I received the HDMI switch, I was impressed by how solid and heavy it felt in my hand. It's a metal enclosure so much better than the plastic one I got. It runs cool and doesn't appears to warm up by my hand.I knew it came with a USB cord for power, but I was hoping that it doesn't need require power because it is one less cable to run and the IR remote still works without USB power. For my setup connecting to a USB hub and to my HDMI/DVI port, the HDMI port is providing enough power so I don't need a USB power separately. Your mileage and setup may vary but it is good to have USB power backup as an optionOverall, I am very happy with the HDMI switch. you can even setup two of these HDMI switches for two monitors, and use the remote to switch both of them at once. That's the setup I tested and it is working beautifully. If you want to switch just one, use the physical button. Use the remote to switch two at the same time.I will report back if the switch fails, but otherwise, I am satisfied.
