These baskets are the perfect size for a loaf of bread for the whole family (so not too big). I often make sourdough using Sarah Owen's Food52 recipe. These baskets are perfect for this recipe. They also came with a cute little card with instructions on how to care for the baskets. I'm new to baking so this helped me a lot.
