First of all, I find that the product does what it promises and is of high quality. Having cases is great. I even found myself a little addicted to using them. Expect them to strengthen your gums (use them to brush your teeth as studies show they can tighten your gums). Why did I deduct a star? Three reasons I think someone new to miswak sticks should consider is that they don't leave a minty freshness in the mouth. It seems obvious and there's no reason not to use the product, but I found I stopped using it because the slight astringency wasn't enough to ensure my breath was good. There was just no certainty. While I'm not a fan of xylitol gum or breath mints, I think they're better for on the go. Also, I just don't see myself using it on the go - unless I can find a toilet stall. This is strictly a unique television thing. Unless those things are critical to how you intend to use them. Finally, about 1/3 felt after a short use that the astringent smell was easily replaced with a slightly less pleasant one? It's hard to describe. It's such a light scent to start with. There was just less medicine and more acid. I expect it will need to be cut back and restarted after a day or two of non-use. They just didn't inspire confidence in hygiene (however, studies show that they are actually more hygienic than toothbrushes).
