I'm so disappointed in Melissa and Doug. I ordered them on September 19th for my daughter's 1st birthday. So we have them for a little less than a month. The colors are bright and they turned out to be of good quality. she loves them They live in the bottom half of our fridge and we love talking about different animals. About two weeks ago I noticed that the giraffe magnet was starting to detach from its wooden base! Are you kidding me? We've barely started using them! My daughter also found the shell and, like babies do, fiddled with the lip until she peeled it off completely. Not only does this indicate poor workmanship, but also a possible choking hazard if it rips off a small piece. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but now I regularly check the rest for signs of compromise. Such a shame. We have several Melissa & Doug products but this casts a shadow over the integrity of the company's products. Only buy them if your child intends to only look at them through the packaging and never use them for their intended purpose.
