Revainrating 5 out of 5

I found a lot of useful ideas, techniques and inspiration!

Ribbon knit brings a twist to traditional wool knitting. Ribbon yarn gives a special touch that will make your knitted product look unique and unrepeatable. However, working with ribbon presents its own difficulties, even for an experienced knitter. I picked up this book after working with ribbon yarn on my own and it definitely helped me solve some of the problems I was having (e.g. the book is suitable for both experienced and novice knitters. Below is one Summary with my comments I hope you find it useful The Basics section: 1. How best to work with ribbon yarn to avoid tangling 2. How to clean ribbon yarn garments 3. How to switch from one ribbon type to another if necessary alternates 4. Pattern shows correct weaving, too loose and too tight. The following basic chapters contain detailed step-by-step instructions, each with a picture. They are very clear!5.Modeling and warp/purl warps 6.Closing and joining the both parts 7. Shaping: increasing and decreasing the width of the part 8. Adding lining and zippers 9. Crochet embellishments 10. Crochet closure 11. Finishing bids and Prohibited 12. Sewing Seams 13. Pattern Reading, Including Common Abbreviations Clothing Collection Section: 1. Sleeveless scalloped top. Great project, simple but beautiful. I made this one. I liked the design with the big jagged bottom. My modification was to add sleeves as I don't like sleeveless shirts. 2. Halter top 3. Tassel shawl 3. Raglan sleeve top 4. Wrap back halter top 5. Very elegant designer wrap 6. Classic crew neck cardigan 7. Sleeveless polo neck sweater. I really like how the color shimmers in this design. 8. Super casual vest with one button. Simple design and this pattern really shows off the texture of the ribbon. 9. Long sleeve sweater with wrap front and beautiful scalloped hem. 10. Top with straps. I didn't really like the design, but there is a description of an interesting twisted cord technique. 11. Summer poncho Accessory: 1. Cozy socks. Very beautiful! I plan to give them away. 2. Hop Belt. 3. Peruvian hat 4. Hat and scarf. A useful technique for scarves is to make them in two sections, making sure the patterns on both ends match up perfectly. I also liked the binding around the scarf. Bag Section: 1. Large Pearl Bag 2. Handbag 3. Diamond Bag 4. Clutch Bag 5. Long Handle Tote Bag (sooo pretty for a tote bag!) 6. Duffel Bag 7. Double Bag - Personalized Bag 8. Flower Bag Home Decoration Section: 1. Pillow 2. Cushion 3. Floor cushion 4. Wall hanging ribbon decoration knitted ribbon flowers. 2. Variety of brushes 3. Edges 4. Loops I've already made one project from the book and plan on using several more. I learned some new techniques and got a lot of ideas on how to use the decorations in this book in my projects. I can't ask for more to enjoy the book! Review by Ali Julia
