I bought this product because I have to style my hair weekly with a homemade leave-in treatment that tends to run or drip off my hair which sometimes affects not only my clothes, but also any clothes near furniture or furniture soiled fixtures. In this case I can simply cover myself with a robe with twisted ends. It's secure, if not just a little tight around my neck, but not so tight that I can't breathe. I can even use it when styling my hair (which includes a spray bottle and various hair oils) as it protects my surroundings from excessive dripping or water damage. The only thing that bothers me about this product is (1) how the robe fits around the hair. Neck as the pieces don't mesh well so you have to reduce the width of your neck area by a few inches to keep it snug around your neck and (2) the comb provided doesn't seem to last very long as it seems to be off very cheap plastic. The included scissors are of high quality and will definitely come in handy for touch ups or trimming split ends for months if not years to come.
