Review on Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser: A Skincare Essential for Sensitive Skin by Susan Oliver

I like this sponge. Bought to use in place of a stool. Since it's charcoal, I expected it to flake off, but it's not (or at least I don't think it is). Instead, when wet, it swells up and becomes very smooth and jelly-like on top—something like a smoother version of a kitchen sponge. I use it with body scrub gel and it works for me. I'm taking off a star because the sponge doesn't smell very good. The first time I used it I left it on just long enough for it to swell before trying it in the shower. The smell of charcoal lingers on the skin, which is not washed off. After that I put it in a bowl of water to soak overnight which seems to have solved the problem for the most part. The sponge itself still smells a bit, but no longer leaves an odor and feels silky on my skin.
