Just save time and effort and buy a solid state drive.

The first 1TB hard drive I received from this company wasn't formatted with my 2010 MacBook Pro so I pretty easily swapped it in for a new one and was fine with the for the first 4 months new hard drive satisfied. However, one day he simply died. I heard the drive making strange noises when trying to start the computer. Luckily I have backed up all my information otherwise I would have lost everything. It was a hassle and it certainly had to last over 4 months. Do yourself a favor and get a solid state drive. Faster, more reliable and worth the money.
