Economical, low-tech solution

Tried for my dog who started dragging his back legs a little when he was 16. Walking on hard surfaces would bring his toenails to life, so I needed enough protection to prevent that wear and tear. These boots are basically fat short balloons. There's nothing wrong with this and can work for a lot of things, but after about a 2 hour walk my dog managed to wear small holes in it from pulling his claws (which are short) so I can't recommend them for that. a specific goal (drag toes). However, I keep a few in the car and in my doggie bag because they don't take up space and are a good option for emergencies. They're also a little tricky to put on - one reviewer posted a video demonstrating his technique and it was helpful, but if you have a quirky dog it won't be easy. The elastic neck may be tight depending on the circumference of your dog's paws, so be CAREFUL if you plan on leaving it on for more than an hour. The tightness can affect blood flow if you're using them to cover a wound or bandage and plan on wearing them 24/7. If this is your plan, consult your veterinarian to find out how to tell if your boot collar is too tight.
